WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE NO OPTIONS

Dr. Rocky Ramsey’s message from 1 Peter 2:18-20 speaks to those who feel trapped or powerless. In moments where it seems there are no choices left, God’s word reminds us of what really matters. In times of helplessness, we can still choose to act with faith and trust that God sees every step we take. When options seem gone, God’s presence remains—and that’s more than enough.

What We Must Not Forget

  • Our Character Should Be Determined by Who God Wants Us to Be

Even when we’re struggling, we’re called to be reflections of God’s character. Our circumstances don’t change that calling.

  • Our Behavior Should Be Determined by What God Wants Us to Do

No matter the situation, God’s will for our actions is clear. We are called to respond with integrity and love, even when things feel out of control.

  • The Behavior of Others Should Not Determine Ours

It’s easy to react based on how others treat us, but our standard is set by God, not by the actions of those around us.

What to Do When You Have No Option

  • We May Not Control Who is “Over” Us

Sometimes we have no power over our circumstances or authority figures, but we still have control over our response.

  • God Sees Us When We Do Right, Especially When We’ve Been Wronged

God acknowledges our struggles. When we do the right thing, especially when it’s hard, it matters deeply to Him.

  • God Will Reward Us for Doing Right, Even When We’ve Been Wronged

Our efforts aren’t overlooked. God’s rewards may not come in the form we expect, but He promises justice for those who walk with integrity.

  • Do the Best You Can… Where You Are… With What You Have

Even if the path feels limited, God invites us to give our best in each moment. He will meet us where we are and multiply our efforts.

Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable. For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.
